WhatleyKallas was one of the firms involved in the successful effort in the 11th Circuit to challenge the challenge the law passed by the Alabama Legislature to prevent the City of Birmingham from passing a minimum wage law.  The Court of Appeals reversed the dismissal of the lawsuit alleging that the Legislature passed the state law for racially discriminatory reasons.  A link to the 11th Circuit opinion is here.

The case is Marnika Lewis et al. v. the State of Alabama, case number 17-11009, in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
